A test drive is an opportunity for you to get a much clearer idea of what a car is like to help you make your purchase decision. Whether you’re test driving a used car or trying out a particular model for a new car purchase, the test drive puts you in the drivers seat in order to find out any information you want to know, or simply just to make sure you’re comfortable with the driving experience and technology.
At Peoples Ford we try to make the test drive experience as simple as possible. When you arrive for your test drive, a member of our team will either bring around the respective used car that you want to test drive or a model that’s as close to the new car that you’re interested in buying. Our staff member will then move into the passenger seat and give you the keys. To begin with you’ll have all the time you need to get accustomed to the steering controls and layout of the interior. All of the seats can be adjusted along with rear view and wing mirrors to ensure you feel safe and comfortable before driving off. This early stage of the test drive is usually a great point to learn more about the specific features of the vehicle including on-board technology and safety features and we can even demonstrate how to setup and use the different features of the car as needed.
The team member that accompanies you on your test drive will have a very good understanding of the local area and will commonly have a good route mapped out that will allow you to see how the car drives on different road types, giving you a good mixture of slow speed and faster speeds. They will be able to guide you and provide directions so don’t worry about getting lost as you’ll be in good hands!
The test drive itself will typically last between 15 and 30 minutes but if you require additional time please let us know and we can discuss this with you accordingly. The primary aim of the test drive is to give you the opportunity to learn more about the vehicle and to make sure it fits with your needs and expectations. We encourage our customers to feel comfortable when on a test drive in order to get the most out of the test drive, but of course all traffic laws must be obeyed at all times so please keep this in mind.
