Now in its seventh generation, the ever-popular Fiesta is good to drive and offers a comfortable ride in its flexible, well-appointed cabin. This supermini also features cost-effective engines and comes in Style, Zetec and Titanium trim levels.
The Fiesta is available in three and five-door body styles, the latter, of course, offering greater accessibility for rear-seat occupants. A number of body-coloured elements include bumpers, door handles, and power-operated and heated door mirrors, the latter with integrated indicator lights. Further illumination includes courtesy-delay headlights and LED daytime running lights, and both front and rear windscreens offer wash-wipe functionality.
Zetec grades add a Quickclear heated windscreen, front fog lamps and 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the five-person cabin the driver benefits from four-way-adjustable seating and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, as well as power-assisted steering. Other standard features include electrically operated front windows (with one-touch and anti-trap functionality on the driver’s side), air conditioning and a 12-volt front-positioned power point. Stowage provision includes an illuminated glovebox and centre-console storage. Five-door iterations offer optimal luggage capacity: between 276 litres (seats up) and 974 litres (rear seats folded).
Included with Zetec trims are ambient lighting, footwell illumination and a number of leather-trimmed elements, such as a three-spoke steering wheel.
A 1.2-litre 59bhp (or 81bhp) petrol engine delivers up to 54.3mpg and a 122g/km CO2 figure. Alternatively, a 1.5-litre 74bhp (or 94bhp) diesel unit returns as much as 78.5mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 94g/km, making it the most fuel-efficient option. Both are available with entry-level Style grades and are paired with five-speed manual gearboxes. (Six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option.) Ford’s Easy Fuel capless system comes as standard.
An MP3-compatible six-speaker sound system includes an AM/FM radio and a CD player, and can be operated remotely. USB connectivity and MyKey functionality are also standard inclusions.
Zetec grades additionally feature DAB digital radio and Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance.
The Fiesta has been awarded a five-star rating by Euro NCAP, and driving aids include Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Programme, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Hill-start Assist. Multiple airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load-limiters and seatbelt reminders are among the vehicle’s range of passive safety features.
The car is secured with remote central locking and an engine immobiliser.
The Fiesta is available now from Peoples Ford at a wide range of locations in the north-west of England and east of Scotland. Get in touch today to book a test drive.
