Coming Soon - All New Ford GT

The infamous Ford GT has been announced as going in to production which we here at Peoples Ford could not be happier about.

The Ford GT supercar is highly recognisable and has been the leading performance vehicle for the worldwide Ford brand for many years. The GT40, will be made in limited numbers that are perhaps even lower than the 2005 GT according to Ford design boss Moray Callum – who suggested only hundreds would be made rather than thousands. Given that the car will be sold globally like all of the Ford product range, this means early orders are essential if you want to drive one home.

 Ford GT Engine & Performance

The new Ford GT is set to be powered by a 3.5 litre twin turbo V6 EcoBoost engine. The award winning EcoBoost engine is present in almost all of Ford's line up including the all new Ford Mustang, so it's hardly surprising Ford has developed its class leading engine into this supercar. That being said, the mid mounted engine still manages to generate more than 600BHP when combined with a 7 speed dual clutch gear box complete with paddle shift.

Modern supercars are not just about huge amounts of power, which is why the new Ford GT is made mostly from carbon fibre along with other space age materials ensuring a very light weight car. Aerodynamics also play a big part is the GT's performance, with the classic tear drop shape allowing for reduced drag whilst maximising engine cooling.

The new GT also comes complete with the latest cutting edge technology from Ford.

"This is the ultimate Ford, a new halo," said Nair. "The ultimate embodiment of all our innovation - everything from the wheels, aerodynamics, engine. All this new technology is important for future Fords. The GT is the flagship for this innovation, and that's why we're building it.

"There are loads of new innovations here, and the hi-tech Ecoboost engine is a perfect fit for the car," he added. "The 3.5 V6 has more power than the 6.2 V8, and better economy. That blend of performance with efficiency is so important."
