The Vignale edition brings the wow factor to the already successful Ford Edge SUV. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the high-spec Edge Vignale compares favourably with some of the most luxurious SUVs on the market.
The restyled exterior, hexagonal grille and exclusive 20-inch alloys are the first things which set the Vignale edition apart from other Edge models. The fog lamps have a sleek chrome surround and are unique to the Edge Vignale. Privacy glass at the rear and dual exhausts add to the sophisticated styling. The Edge Vignale is available in a choice of four body colours including the rich dark Nerissimo and the tri-coat Vignale White, exclusive to the top spec range.
No expense has been spared on the generously proportioned interior, which features plush leather quilted upholstery and leather trim on the steering wheel and gearshift knob. Front seats are power adjustable and the driver’s favourite seat position can be set and restored at the push of a button with the memory function. Lowering the fold-flat rear seats significantly expands the boot space. Ford’s active noise control technology works to keep the cabin quieter by sending opposing sound waves to counteract engine noise.
The car has keyless entry and ignition and an electric parking brake and the power tailgate can be opened remotely. The Edge Vignale is fitted with a DAB navigation and sound system as standard along with the Ford SYNC system with eight-inch touchscreen which responds to voice commands. For example, if you say that you need fuel, the system will provide a list of options for filling up near your current location.
The two 2.0-litre Duratorq engine options for the Edge Vignale deliver 177bhp and 207bhp and both engines deliver 47.9mpg combined. The 177bhp model moves from 0 to 60mph in approximately 9.8 seconds, while the 207bhp version reaches 60mph in 9.3 seconds. Both engines feature auto start-stop technology delivering CO₂ emissions of just 152g/km.
There are plenty of features to keep you and your passengers protected while you are travelling in the Edge Vignale. Assisted parking technology makes it easier to park in a short space. Parking sensors are provided at the front and rear, as is a rear view parking camera.
Ford’s adaptive steering technology makes the car easier to manoeuvre by altering the ratio between how much the driver turns the wheel and how much the front wheels turn. Rain-sensing front wipers and automatic headlights switch on or off as required by weather and light conditions.
