Ford has released a new iPhone app – the Econo Check – designed to calculate potential savings for cars of any make or model based on age and annual mileage. The app, available on iPhone and iPads will also provide tips for fuel efficient driving.
Ford Econo Check went on sale this year and enables Ford vehicles to be monitored on how they’re driven using a data logger that collects data over seven days. Once the chip is removed and the data has been downloaded, a detailed report is produced, advising the driver how to improve fuel economy. Tips include how to modify gear changes, acceleration and braking to cut fuel costs.
The resulting savings are also displayed, which can be up to an impressive 25% or £474 a year, according to a study of 50,000 drivers.
The Econo Check app enables all iPhone and iPad users to access this generalised data for any marque. Ford drivers can also locate their nearest Ford dealer to book a personalised Econo Check. Paul Muers, customer service marketing manager at Ford said,
“This new Econo Check app will help motorists to drive more fuel efficiently. Our 2011 price of £11.99 for an Econo Check at a dealership makes the service an ideal new year resolution to pursue with fuel prices at a record high."
The Econo Check app is available free of charge from iTunes. If you would like a personalised Econo Check, the cost is £11.99, including a refundable £10 against the next scheduled service. Contact People’s Ford today for more information on a Ford Econo Check.
