The 2012 Fiesta ST has been revealed at the Frankfurt motor show in Germany and is expected to go on Sale in the UK in time for the 62 registration mark release in September 2012. The new ST boasts a new 1.6 litre Eco-boost turbo-charged engine with direct fuel injection and produces a whopping 180bhp which is 30bhp more than the current Fiesta ST which has a 2.0 litre 150bhp non turbo-charged engine.

The 2012 ST is going be known as the WRC-inspired, Eco-Boost-powered Ford and is going to demonstrate Fords ability to manufacture high performance cars. The Eco-Boost engine is also going to be powering the 2012 Focus ST which is also going to make an appearance in the UK next year. The new six-speed manual gearbox and will have a 0-62mph speed of less than 7 seconds which is over 1 second quicker than the current Fiesta ST.

Ford have also introduced a range of modifications to the exterior of the 2012 Fiesta ST. First of all, they have introduced a new honeycomb grill with the ST badge as standard and the rear bumper diffuser now has twin exhausts to give the rear a sporty yet subtle look. It has lowered suspension, widened wheel arches with 17” inch alloy wheels and a complete body kit to look similar to the WRC Fiesta competition car. The interior includes Recaro bucket seats, a Sony CD player instead of the standard Ford unit and coloured courtesy lights.
