Ford dealers are now offering drivers a way to navigate without accumulating sat nav suction cup marks on their windscreens. A new unit called “MirrorNavi” places the sat nav unit alongside the rear view mirror, meaning drivers can navigate at the same time as checking the rear view. “MirrorNavi” replaces the original rear view and is mounted without any visible wires or damage to the main instrument panel.

The equipment is compatible with Ford car and commercial ranges and can be fitted in no more than an hour by Ford dealers.  However, the company warns that the Ford Ranger and Ford Ka 2009 are excluded as there is insufficient gap between the driver and passenger sun visors.

“MirrorNavi” has tinted and dimming mirror glass, battery charging connection and anti-theft security. It includes a 3.5 inch touch screen, internal memory, 2D or 3D map display and voice response for over 70 languages. Available now, “MirrorNavi” costs £299 plus fitting charges.
