A number of award wins during 2012 kept the Ford car range at the head of the pack.
In the WhatCar? Awards, the Mondeo took the Best Estate Car and Best Family Car titles. This achievement marked the second consecutive year that the model won in both categories. It was also a repeat of the Mondeo's double win in 2009.
Updates to the car's style and equipment during 2011 resulted in renewed interest in the Mondeo from UK drivers. The Zetec trim level approved by WhatCar? was the specification in close to 40 percent of Mondeo cars sold.
The vehicle was joined by another, adding to Ford's trophy cabinet. The newly-introduced Ford C-MAX wasted no time in showing its potential, claiming its first BusinessCar award in 2012.
In the first full 12 months that the C-MAX was on sale, the number of models sold doubled compared to partial figures for the previous year. In 2011, the C-MAX represented one in five new MPVs sold in the UK.
