The Tourneo Connect offers plenty of interior space, and its cost-effective engines help to deliver a refined car-like driving experience. This practical MPV is available in three trim levels: Style, Zetec and Titanium.
The smart van-like Tourneo Connect comes with a number of user-friendly features, including blind-spot-eliminating door mirrors and two sliding rear doors. The latter make passenger access much simpler, while a low load lip helps minimise the effort needed to place items into the car’s boot. Ford’s Easy Fuel capless system enables simple, error-free refuelling. The vehicle’s standard illumination includes a high-mounted brake light.
Zetec grades provide power-operated and heated door mirrors, a Quickclear heated windscreen (also available as an option for Style grades) and front fog lamps.
A high roofline offers lots of headroom in an already spacious five-seat cabin. A number of standard features include a rake-and-reach-adjustable steering column, power-operated front windows (one-touch on the driver’s side) and front and rear 12-volt power points. Stowage provision includes a front-compartment overhead shelf and a discreet cavity located in the car’s instrument panel. Boot capacity starts at 1,000 litres and can be increased to as much as 2,410 litres with the rear seats removed.
Zetec trims add an eight-way-adjustable and lumbar-supporting driver’s seat, air conditioning (which can also be specified as an option with Style grades) and a 12-volt socket in the boot.
A 1.0-litre 99bhp petrol engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and delivers up to 55.4mpg and a 129g/km CO2 figure. Alternatively, a 1.5-litre 99bhp diesel unit, paired with five-speed manual transmission, returns as much as 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 115g/km. Six-speed automatic transmission is available with a 1.5-litre 118bhp diesel engine.
A DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, voice control and steering wheel-mounted audio controls are all included as standard.
Zetec grades feature six loudspeakers and add a CD player, MP3 compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity and Ford SYNC (including Emergency Assistance and voice control).
The vehicle comes with a five-star rating, as awarded by Euro NCAP, and safety features include Electronic Stability Control, multiple airbags, seatbelt reminders and seatbelt pre-tensioners and load-limiters.
