Danielle, our Group Director of Customer Experience

Danielle has been part of the Peoples Ford team for over 10 years. Leading a team of over 20 – she is dedicated to all things Customer Experience. They handle all customer enquiries and really are at the heart of our business. We wanted to get to know our Group Customer Experience Manager Danielle that little bit more so we've sat down for a quick Q&A.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

As a teenager I loved science and biology and I wanted a career involving these topics. This led me to studying Biomedical Science, Pharmacology & Physiology at university. After obtaining my honours degree, I then decided pharmaceutical sales was the job for me. I needed some sales experience and a job as an outbound sales agent in the utilities industry came calling. And the rest, as they say, is history.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Setting up and establishing the Customer Experience Centre here at Peoples Ford, turning what was effectively a switch board facility into a Centre of Excellence. When I joined in 2012 the vision for the company was to have a One Stop Shop for all customer interactions. A hub that made it easy for our customers to do business with us, at a time of day and via a channel that was convenient to them. I wanted our centre to defy the myths of a typical ‘call centre’ and to enhance the customer experience at every potential touch point. I believe through having the right people in our team, providing them with the skills and resources to deliver and develop in their role and simply making sure we treat our customers as we would want to be treated, we’ve achieved far more than that.

Where would you most like to be right now?

My favourite holiday destination, Dubai! Their customer service is a whole different level which for me is something I can’t switch off from gauging… comes with the job I suppose.

Who or what is the greatest love of your life?

That’s a tough one – either my designer shoe collection or my puppy Mac.

What keeps you awake at night?

My puppy (hence the deliberation on the question above!)

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Chocolate, crisps and a can of good old Irn Bru.

What is your most treasured possession?

A necklace left to me by my beloved grandmother when she passed away at the age of 95.

What do you owe your parents?

From an early age my mother showed me how to be a strong, independent female and this has certainly came in handy in some of the industries I’ve worked in.

My work ethic through school, university and my career to date has been a consequence of her teaching me that anything worth having in life requires hard work and effort.
