The Peoples Ford brand has a long history and deep-rooted connection with the community. When Brian Gilda formed the business his decision to name it, ‘Peoples’ was born from his determination to make clear that customers and colleagues are at the heart of everything we do – without them we have nothing.
For over 40 years Peoples Ford have been supporting numerous local community organisations with the view of giving back. One of the most notable partnerships is with The Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band.
To help celebrate The Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Bands 50th Anniversary we spent some time with the Band at the 2022 World Pipe Band Championships held in Glasgow.
Brian Gilda, Chairman of Peoples Ford, reflects on our 40-year relationship with the Band and talks about how important the Bands youth programme is to the community. Every year the Band support literally hundreds of young people by schooling them in the art of the pipes & drums.
Our relationship with the Band began when the Band played at the official opening of the very first Peoples Ford dealership in Bathgate in 1983. Our support formalised 9 years ago, when the Band officially became known as The Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band.
