Together, they headed out in the New Puma, learn what they got up to below.
Last weekend People’s Ford gave us the all new Puma to test drive, and we couldn’t wait to get out on the open road...
It was the first time I’ve seen any of my friends since March – having been confined to a city-center flat through-out most of lockdown, I was definitely feeling claustrophobic and in need of some fresh air. So when they got in touch to ask if we’d like to test the car our for a couple of days, a road trip to the forest seemed like the perfect destination to meet up with friends again.
We collected the car from the Speke showroom and felt completely safe upon entering, we wore masks and there was a hand sanitizing station at the main entrance. We were taken over to the car and were really impressed how spotless it was inside and out (we took extra antibacterial wipes just to be on the safe side but it really didn’t feel like they were needed).
After we loaded all of our wellies, blankets and picnic baskets into the boot we set off on our adventure. We typed the destination into the touch screen SatNav and away we went! The intelligent SYNC 3 technology allowed us to connect our smartphone to provide safe and simple media streaming on the go. We listened to our favourite tunes which sounded amazing over the B&O sound system.
The adaptive cruise control made driving through country lanes a breeze – through a series of sensors and RADAR technology, the car monitored the speed of vehicles up ahead and adjusted our own speed to maintain a set distance that was safe! The rear-view camera also made reverse parking on a busy road really easy and we were able to detect any tree stumps that might have got in the way.
Once we’d parked up we put our wellies on and set out into the forest for a good long walk. It was just what we needed and was the perfect spot to reconnect and blow away the cobwebs.
We got back to the car for a flask of tea and some sandwiches and listened to some music as we chatted away, again the SYNC 3 technology allowed us to skip songs and adjust the volume whilst we were stood next to the car.
On the way home we took full advantage of the car’s added levels of comfort, includingheated seats, lumbar support and massage function – just what we needed after a long walk outdoors.
We all absolutely loved our time with the all new Puma and it wasn’t hard to see why it won ‘What Car? Car of the Year 2020’
