  • Trade-in eligible vehicle owners are permitted to purchase one new vehicle per each V5. If the same V5 is used for multiple new purchases, this will be deemed a breach of these terms and conditions and any marketing support will be clawed back
  • The Trade-In eligible vehicle does not need to be part exchanged
  • A copy of the eligible vehicles V5 is required and is to be retained in the deal file for audit purposes
  • The new vehicle must be registered in the same name and address as detailed on the eligible vehicles V5
  • If the address on the Trade-In eligible vehicles V5 is different to that of the customers current address, proof of current address will be required and is to be retained in the deal file. Acceptable examples of proof are a current driving license or utility bill. The vehicle can then be registered to the customers current address
  • Spouses of eligible Trade-In vehicle owners are permitted to purchase a new vehicle in their own Name. E.g. Mr Smith is the owner on the V5 of an eligible Trade-In vehicle, but the new vehicle will be registered in the name of Mrs Smith. In this instance proof of marriage and same address is required in the form of a marriage certificate and utility bill/driving license, and copies of these documents are required to be retained in the deal file
  • Common-law Partners of eligible Trade-In vehicle owners are permitted to purchase a new vehicle in their own Name. E.g. Mr Smith is the owner on the V5 of an eligible Trade-In vehicle, but the new vehicle will be registered in the name of Miss Jones. In this instance proof of same address for more than 1 year is required in the form of utility bills and driving licenses, and copies of these documents are required to be retained in the deal file
  • In the event that a customer requests to register their new vehicle in a company name or different personal name to the name that appears on V5 of the eligible Trade-In vehicle or a different company address to that of the Trade-In eligible vehicle, the following rules must apply:
    • There must be proof that the customer or business that owns the Trade-In vehicle is also the owner or the owner of the business that the new vehicle is being registered to e.g. a current record from Companies House should be retained in the deal file
    • There must be proof of a change in business name or proof that the business that owns the Trade-In vehicle and the business that is purchasing the new vehicle, are both owned by the customer. e.g. a current record from Companies House should be retained in the deal file
  • All required proof is to be retained in copy in the customer deal file
  • It is NOT permitted for an individual to purchase a new vehicle on behalf of a company. The owner of the new vehicle must be the same as the owner on the eligible vehicle V5 unless there is proof of the aforementioned circumstances in the deal file
  • The Trade-In Allowance must be clearly shown on the customer invoice
