World Mental Health Day 2023

Every year we celebrate World Mental Health Day on the 10th of October. This is an incredibly important day as it provides a chance to raise awareness of mental health and drive positive change around the subject. It also gives everyone an opportunity to talk about mental health, how to look after it and how vital it is to remember to talk to someone if you think you need help. Since 1949, the Mental Health Foundation has been the leading charity in the UK when it comes to mental health. They hold a vision of everyone living in a world where there is good mental health for all and people can live within their respective communities and be able to thrive. They also have a direct focus on helping those who may be at greater risk to gain support, aiming to drive change towards a mentally healthy society for all.

World Mental Health Day is a chance for everyone to unite behind a theme, and this year the theme is 'Mental health is a universal human right'. To struggle with mental health is a condition that should never be looked down upon and should never result in an individual becoming excluded from society or decisions about their own health. Yet all around the world, people who suffer continue to experience such exclusions and this is why days like World Mental Health Day and the message it carries is so vital. Here at Peoples Ford, we will always do our very best to ensure we embody the spirit of this day, every single day of the year.

Looking after your own mental health is incredibly important, the Mental Health Foundation offers a whole range of advice and tips for looking after yourself. From talking about your own mental health, to tips on building and maintaining healthy relationships, they offer a fantastic amount of brilliant advice for anyone who needs it. Peoples Ford & Soulful Sundays

Here at Peoples Ford, we are always on the lookout for community groups who may need our support. World Mental Health Day is a reminder of why we partake in the meaningful community work that we do, as we realise the importance of always going above and beyond when it comes to offering to support to those who need it. We put this to work to the test with a recent trip to offer a support to a fantastic local group doing brilliant work in the community.

We headed along to Kinghorn beach in Fife with the All-New Ford Ranger to give our support to a fantastic cause. The story of Soulful Sundays is one that revolves around a group coming together to improve the lives of others. Getting all the equipment into the Ranger, across the sandy beach and next to the water was absolutely no problem at all for the Ranger and we were delighted to be able to help get things started. We always set out to improve the lives of individuals and families through provision of the best and most affordable vehicles, so to be given the chance to spend a day with a group who also aims to improve the lives of others within their community was absolutely brilliant. You can read more about our day with Soulful Sunday and their story right here.
