Ford’s new ST Line trim level is about making three of its familiar models exciting again. The Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo benefit from this sporty new update, inspired by the earlier Ford ST model, bringing a new and vibrant feel to three familiar and reliable vehicles.
All of the Ford ST Line models are recognisable by their new sporty exterior, thanks to the updated bodykit. Black headlining and 17-inch alloy wheels are included across the range, as well as sculpted bonnets and ST badging. The Ford Fiesta has the unique colour option of SVO Storm Grey paint, as well as a two-tone option on the alloys.
All of the Ford ST Line models are available as five-door variants.
The ST Line is a reincarnation of the former Zetec S range for Focus and Fiesta models, with inspiration from the previous Ford ST. The ST Line includes red and black editions of its interior and exterior styling, with a black leather steering wheel and upholstery with contrasting red stitching. The cabin has been transformed in each model to feature sports seats, aluminium pedals and three-spoke steering wheels.
The Fiesta ST’s interior is unrecognisable from the standard model, with a range of styling details including illuminated tread plates, silver striped seatbelts and part-leather trim on the Recaro sports seats.
The new trim level offers customers a far greater level of personalisation without any compromises in Ford’s safety, reliability or affordability.
The Mondeo ST engines are taken from the very top of Mondeo’s range. The choice of two is between two 2.0-litre diesel TCDi engines, producing 148 and 179bhp respectively. Buyers can choose between automatic or manual transmission and have the option of four-wheel drive.
The Fiesta ST has four engines to choose from: three petrol with a 1.0-litre EcoBoost motor and a diesel with a 1.5-litre unit returning 78.5mpg. The Focus ST has the widest choice of engines, with five options in petrol and diesel. Ranging from 118 to 180bhp, buyers can take their pick in desired power output.
All three of Ford’s ST Line models have been given sports suspension, positioning each vehicle 10mm closer to the road than in previous models. In addition to the new engine options, the new Ford ST Line’s suspension gives the range an undoubtedly more powerful and sports-like performance, with an emphasis on acceleration, responsiveness and handling which transforms the models into class-leading sports hatchbacks.
The Ford ST Line models come with a new range of gadgets too, including the eight-inch touchscreen and Ford’s SYNC2 infotainment system. Optional extras include satellite navigation with a built-in reversing camera.
