We have been partnered with Homeless Project Scotland (HPS) since 2020 and have provided them with Transit vans to help get hot meals to those who need it most. The vans enable them to transport hot food, volunteers and vulnerable people around the city of Glasgow. HPS is made up of passionate and committed volunteers who go above & beyond to help those in need. They provide vital services like soup kitchens, street teams & street cycles to homeless & vulnerable people across the country to ensure they have access to regular meals. Furthermore, HPS also offer emotional support by taking the time to listen to people's stories and make sure they feel heard & appreciated - their volunteers are trained and well-equipped to handle any situation.
The work that HPS carry out isn't without its demands and challenges. Cities are an ever-changing environment as Homeless Project Scotland knows all too well. Here at Peoples Ford, we pride ourselves on the help & support we can offer communities and charities just like the people HPS look after and the charity themselves. We have provided HPS with five vans in total and, most recently, an all-electric E-Transit which allows the team to navigate the city with zero carbon emissions. These vehicles play a key role in allowing HPS to administer their vital aid and support.
Colin McInnes, Chairman/Co-founder of HPS, has said the charity has never been in more need of support, citing the latest figures which reveal a 27 per cent increase in homelessness in Glasgow alone. He fears the energy price hike will only exacerbate the problem and has already been approached by desperate families unable to make ends meet. Recently, we were able to provide Homeless Project Scotland with several new vans including the all-electric E-Transit which allows the team to navigate the city with zero carbon emissions.
Colin was delighted that Peoples Ford is able to provide them with a new support vehicle at such quick notice. Brian Gilda, Chairman of Peoples Ford, said he is proud to support a charity carrying out vital work for a cause that is close to his heart. Check out our gallery below that includes Colin picking up the brand-new Transit Connect and E-Transit as well as Brian, Colin & members from the Peoples Ford team working alongside the charity to bring help to those who need it.
