Award Winning Hot Hatch Available from Peoples Ford

Ford Dealer in Scotland & Northern England

Ford's Performance team has worked its magic on the Ford Fiesta ST, to celebrate the evolution of the car into the upcoming ST-2. At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, a bold and powerful new take on the hot hatch – the Fiesta ST200 – was finally revealed.

The Fiesta hatchback is the UK's best-selling car ever, and the ST version has been just as big a hit with drivers and reviewers. It has claimed 22 awards in only a year since going on sale. The second edition, the ST-2, is already a Car of the Year and is set to continue the Fiesta's winning streak.

UK drivers have the option to enhance their original ST with Mountune performance accessories and specialist tuning. The MP215 kit is an option, resulting in a new calibration for the engine and including a high-flow air filter and custom aluminium airbox. All kits are completed by a bright Mountune Performance badge, an indication of the additional tuning your Fiesta has received.

Several other Ford cars can be upgraded with Mountune, increasing your options. There are performance packages offered for the Focus ST and RS, as well as the standard Focus and other Fiesta models. All can be fitted within any existing Ford standard warranty on your vehicle.

Described as a 'future classic in the making', the ST200 represents the finest in Ford Performance engineering. It is named for the 200PS (197bhp) that the 1.6-litre engine can generate. That figure means power has increased by ten percent compared to the ST – and the ST200 boasts a 0-60mph time two-tenths of a second quicker. Drivers will also be able to activate a special 'overboost' function for 15-second intervals, pushing the engine to 212bhp.

Engineering and driving features carried over from the ST include the precise, responsive steering, three-stage Electronic Stability Control and torque vectoring. As well as sitting on low suspension, the ST200 has a centre of gravity 1.5cm closer to the ground. This has meant careful adjustments to the front and rear dampers.

As a result of the changes, the new edition becomes the fastest Fiesta ever to be made as a full production car. The top limit of 143mph can be reached smoothly through comfortable, tailored gear ratios, with fluid shifts enabled by the six-speed manual gearbox. That maximum speed is 4mph more than the standard ST can accomplish.

You will be able to recognise the ST200 from the outside by the Storm Grey paintwork, which is individual to the car. It stands on 17-inch alloy wheels in matt black, fitted with racing red brake callipers. Within the hot hatch, Recaro sports seats finished with charcoal upholstery and partial leather add to the inviting atmosphere. Vibrant silver stitching is matched by the bright metallic seatbelts. The car shown in Geneva displayed illuminated scuff plates, which will also feature on the production model.

The Ford Fiesta ST200 will go into production over the summer, with deliveries beginning soon after. Pricing and full specifications for the car have yet to be released. You can register your interest in the ST200 now.
